Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Spacecraft Systems Engineer to support programs in Dulles, VA. This position requires being onsite and does not support remote work.

Roles and responsibilities will include
  • Ensuring the smooth, expedient compilation of Space Vehicle level requirements gathered from testing throughout the environmental test campaign.
  • Testing and operation of a complex space payload during the SV level I&T campaign requiring completing a training program and supporting testing on several shifts
  • Act as technical lead for root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigation into test failures
  • Working with existing SE team to look for test flow efficiencies


Successful candidate will be capable of:
  • Completing data analysis of test results to compile into verification test reports.
  • Utilizing available resources and cross-functional team input to drive efficiency in Environmental Testing and Test Report Generation using software automation.
  • Implementing updates and configuration management of test software (Tcl, Python, MATLAB).
  • Providing support for triage, root cause analysis, resolution efforts, and presentation to the cross-functional team.
  • Leading SV AI&T electrical testing as the Integration and Test systems representative.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field + 5 years of experience
  • Aerospace and Defense hardware integration and test experience
  • Programming skills (Tcl, Python, Matlab, STOL, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • 3 years of Space Vehicle Integration and Test or Operations
  • Small team leadership experience
  • Customer interaction / briefing experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
