Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principle Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL.

Primary Level Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Accomplish
You candidate will contribute in the analysis, research, design, manufacture, and testing associated with aircraft Support Equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Mechanical design of test, measurement, and handling equipment used on military aircraft.
- Gathering of data, requirements development, interfacing with suppliers, and performing basic stress and tolerance analysis
- Acting as manufacturing liaison during build process of your project to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
- Development of test plans and performing environmental testing of Support Equipment
- Testing and integration of manufactured Support Equipment on aircraft
- Extensive experience in design, drafting, and stress analysis of mechanical systems. Drafting skills shall include strong knowledge of solid modeling software, (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia), or CAD based computer drafting software.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 8 years related engineering experience; Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 6 years related engineering experience
- Proficient using CAD software in generating detailed engineering drawings used for manufacturing of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies
- Current, active in-scope DoD Secret or higher security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient using FEA software in performance of stress analysis of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to include static and dynamic analysis to MIL-STD-810 requirements
- FAA A&P Certificate or equivalent aircraft maintenance background
- Experience developing manufacturing drawings to GD&T standards
