Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrols Full-Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure atmosphere for customers and staff. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while your commitment to exceptional customer service and communication will foster a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order and security-related awareness.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail store and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits and verifying credentials as required by site procedures.
• Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following established protocols and communicating clearly with all parties involved.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in loss prevention, access control, badge systems, and/or customer service is preferred.
• A valid state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
