Job Description

As a Security Guard - Retail Patrol Unarmed in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. Your presence will be highly visible as you conduct routine patrols and provide exceptional customer service, supporting a positive experience for both customers and staff. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, guests, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within a retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate emergency response activities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and monitor for any irregularities.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or property damage, communicating findings promptly to management and/or appropriate authorities.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and guiding visitors as necessary.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and addressing potential theft or policy violations according to established procedures.
• Collaborate with store staff and management to address concerns and provide guidance on security-related matters.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• A valid state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
