Amentum is seeking an MHE-Rail & Heavy Equipment Supervisor to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The MHE-Rail & Heavy Equipment Supervisor will supervise, plan, organize, and coordinate MHE Mobile Equipment Shop functions/responsibilities in accordance with developed Standard Procedures, plans internal operating procedures for the shop.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.
Compensation:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $77K - $96K annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Typical Responsibilities:
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all vehicles, equipment and trailers, including rail equipment, etc. Initiates schedule changes to accomplish established goals and objectives.
- Recommend changes and development of operating plans, procedures and SOPs.
- Analyzes data to establish servicing and replacement criteria.
- Maintain record of time and materials used on jobs and ensure job orders are complete
- Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, and meeting completion dates.
- Review work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc.)
- Responsible for developing, administering, and evaluating the shop's budget while maintaining parts inventory.
- Ensure work is performed based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules
- Initiates requisitions for all repair or replacement parts.
- Reads and understands Task Hazard Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the workplace.
- Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.
- Routinely prepares all shop correspondence and reports.
- Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
- Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
- May be required to work extra hours during work week or weekends
- Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
- Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned.
- May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum four (4) years direct experience in maintaining various equipment and vehicles with one (1) year of supervisory experience. Automotive supervisory and equipment maintenance experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of MHE and variety of various equipment repair, large, small, mobile and diesel.
- Ability to develop, implement, and coordinate policies and procedures involving the operation and maintenance of all equipment and vehicles.
- Ability to develop and train employees in the various technical and specialized areas.
- Able to create and maintain budget.
- Must be able to operate a computerized based terminal and be computer literate in common software applications to operate general office equipment.
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.
- Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license.
- Must also be able to obtain and maintain a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified technical or trade training highly desirable.
