Space Environments Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
As an Engineer with expertise in Space Environments, you know leading-edge space technologies are critical to national defense. At Booz Allen, you can use your engineering expertise to develop advanced defense tools and technology. We need your skills and expertise in space environments to develop creative solutions that directly impact the warfighter.
We are seeking a highly skilled Space Environments Engineer to join our advanced team. You will leverage radiation modeling and simulation tools to evaluate and mitigate space radiation hazards for spacecraft electronic components and missions. This role requires a strong background in radiation effects on semiconductor devices, space environment modeling, and applied shielding analysis.
You will perform Total Ionizing Dose (TID), Displacement Damage (DD), and Single Event Effects (SEE) analyses for electronic components and assemblies. You will develop shielding analysis models and simulations to predict radiation mitigation outcomes. You will recommend design modifications improving radiation resilience. You will generate reports and presentations summarizing simulation results and risk assessments. You will draft and review radiation test plans and testing to validate computational predictions. You will also support mission planning, including orbit-dependent radiation exposure, dosimetry, and protection optimization for space vehicles.
In this role, you'll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by evaluating, improving, and designing space vehicle technologies. You'll work with a large community of engineers across the company and collaborate with space and ground system engineers to deliver comprehensive space system products. Your engineering knowledge will help expand and improve national security capabilities.
