Responsibilities for the Spacecraft Systems Engineer include:
- Provide systems engineering expertise across the entire system lifecycle—from concept development to operations and sustainment—for cloud-based USSF Satellite Operations Centers (SOCs) and emerging ground-to-satellite communication technologies (e.g., laser optical communication, phased array antennas, advanced modulation techniques).
- Offer technical oversight of development efforts including design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and sustainment, using both traditional and agile acquisition methods.
- Develop operational concepts, requirements, architectural designs, and network diagrams; evolve system architectures and implement verification methodologies.
- Lead risk management processes, identifying and mitigating program risks through analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Maintain configuration control using tools such as Jira and Confluence; manage requirements and monitor project progress.
- Support the refinement and implementation of configuration management processes for space systems, ensuring documentation accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare, review, and manage engineering documentation, including version control and traceability.
Required Qualifications for the Spacecraft Systems Engineer include:
- 14+ years of professional experience
- Bachelors Degree or higher required.
- Active Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
- Experience in:
- General systems engineering and spacecraft engineering.
- Full spacecraft lifecycle including payloads, propulsion, power, and communications subsystems.
- Verification and validation processes, including requirement sell-off.
- Configuration management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Engineering principles and project lifecycle phases in space systems development.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
Compensation for the Spacecraft Systems Engineer includes:
- Salary Range: $200,000-$215,000 depending on experience
- Benefits: Paid Holidays, Paid PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k plan, Sick leave as required by law
