ASIC/FPGA Engineer

Taunton, MA

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $75.76-$80.76/Hour

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)

Active Secret Clearance Required to Start

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Define, design, verify, and document ASIC and/or FPGA development projects.
• Develop system architecture, perform simulations, and lead detailed design implementation.
• Specify module interfaces and all aspects of RTL design and simulation.
• Evaluate design flows, including synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power utilization.
• Create and execute test and simulation plans to meet functional and performance criteria.
• Analyze test results and provide performance tuning as needed.
• Review and assess vendor technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools.
• Contribute to process improvements for ASIC/FPGA development practices.
• Interpret and analyze customer design proposals, specs, and manuals for feasibility assessments.
• Select components based on performance, reliability, and specification analysis.
• May lead or mentor junior engineering staff.
• Execute technical tasks independently with minimal supervision and contribute to key programs or projects.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree and 3+ years of experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire.
• Expertise in ASIC/FPGA design, simulation, and verification methodologies.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Vivado, Quartus, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, or similar.
• Deep knowledge of RTL design (Verilog, VHDL) and simulation tools.
• Experience with timing closure, power analysis, and design validation.
• Familiarity with device libraries, foundry processes, and vendor evaluation.
• Understanding of system-level architecture and related engineering disciplines.
• Strong capability in project planning, task execution, and design documentation.
• On-site work may be required depending on project needs.
