We are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in developing algorithmic solutions to complex technical problems to join our team in sunny Grand Prairie, Texas!
What You Will Be Doing
Lockheed Martin (LM) is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) Engineer with emerging experience.
Some of the duties include developing and/or integrating models of flight environment, sensors, mass properties and aerodynamics.
The GNC Engineer will also be responsible for integrating algorithms for flight controls, guidance and navigation, as well as launch sequence and target tracking.
The candidate should understand basic flight mechanics and equations of motion governing a six degree of freedom (6DOF) flight simulation. This integrated flight simulation (IFS) will include truth models as well as representative flight software and statistical error sources used for Monte-Carlo simulation runs.
The candidate will be responsible for pre-flight performance prediction simulation runs as well as post-flight reconstruction including model verification and validation with collected flight test data.
The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to identify and correct any unexplained artifacts in the simulation results or flight test data.
Strong analytical and math skills are required specifically in the areas of controls, state dynamic equations, linear algebra and statistics.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
- Strong analytical and math skills specifically in
the areas of controls
- Proficient in C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB and/or PYTHON
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Experienced with developing and analyzing guidance and/or autopilot algorithms.
- Active secret security clearance with an
investigation within the last 5 years or currently in continuous evaluation
Desired Skills:
- Strong experience in root cause analysis
- Experienced with Missile 6DOF simulation
design and analysis
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
