Responsibilities:
- AWS Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS); Involves ensuring that the platform supports business needs while adhering to security, compliance, and operational standards
- Tasked with building and managing multi-account cloud environments that enable development teams to innovate while maintaining governance; This includes automating account provisioning workflows, setting up connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments, and implementing identity federation for centralized authentication
- Must deploy preventative and detective guardrails to enforce organizational policies and ensure compliance; They also establish centralized logging and monitoring systems using tools like Amazon CloudWatch to aggregate and analyze metrics, logs, and traces across accounts
- Infrastructure automation is a key responsibility, requiring the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to define configurations declaratively; They also implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and manage role-based or attribute-based access control
- Security is a critical focus, with responsibilities including implementing temporary credentials, scanning for hardcoded secrets, and deploying tools for vulnerability management; They also ensure robust cloud financial management by aligning cost allocation tags with organizational accountability
- Provide observability services to enable real-time analysis of logs, metrics, and traces; Implement systems management tools for tasks like patching, inventory management, and remote access, ensuring operational efficiency
- Bachelor's degree or compensating experience
- Security+ certification
- 3-5 years of experience building, operating, and maintaining compliant computing environments in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies and practices for Linux and/or Windows (STIGs)
- Experience with AWS cloud-native infrastructure (e.g. VPC, Security Groups, IAM Policies)
- Experience coordinating/testing/validating/troubleshooting data connections (e.g. JDBC)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
