As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more.
As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This armed position involves conducting routine patrols, remaining visible throughout the facility, and delivering exceptional customer service with strong communication skills. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation, working together to put people first and always acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
- Monitor access points and assist with the enforcement of access control procedures to help to deter unauthorized entry.
- Document all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client site protocols.
- Assist patients, visitors, and staff by providing information and directions, and responding to requests for assistance.
- Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed during critical events.
- Remain alert to potential security-related hazards and report any concerns to appropriate personnel.

- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess Act 235 qualification if located in Pennsylvania.
- Possess a valid firearms permit.
- Possess customer service experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
