As a Security Professional - Government Front Desk Patrol in Silver Spring, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a government location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service while monitoring access and responding to security-related incidents. You will help to deter unwanted activity by maintaining a visible presence and utilizing technology such as alarm panels and computer systems. Your professionalism and communication skills will contribute to creating a welcoming environment while upholding Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
- Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials as required by site protocols.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Maintain a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
- Document and report security-related incidents, unusual activity, and/or concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with visitor management, including logging visitors in and out and issuing visitor passes according to site procedures.
- Communicate professionally with all individuals entering or exiting the location, providing information and directions as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
