Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking an experienced Application Developer (Link Analysis/ Graph Database) to join a dynamic Agile development team supporting a federal cybersecurity program in Chantilly, VA. The Application Developer (Link Analysis / Graph Database) will collaborate closely with System Architects, Front-End Developers, and Data Engineers to implement scalable, mission-ready graph data solutions supporting advanced link analysis and visualization across enterprise systems. This position operates within a Flexible Agile Development Cycle delivering secure, scalable enterprise applications through collaborative design, development, integration, and sustainment efforts.
The ideal candidate will bring experience with full-stack Java development, REST APIs, modern front-end frameworks, and graph database technologies such as ArangoDB. This position is critical to delivering intuitive, scalable link analysis tools within a secure, high-performance computing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain web applications and data services that support graph-based data modeling and link analysis
• Coordinate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements, refine functionality, and enhance application usability
• Build and document APIs and interactive UIs that provide intuitive access to graph-based data structures
• Implement and integrate graph databases (ArangoDB) to enable advanced in-application visualizations and relationship mapping
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and peer code reviews to ensure reliability and maintainability
• Write and maintain application documentation, including inline code comments and user-facing guides
• Support data model transitions, including migrating legacy data into new graph database formats
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming to ensure alignment of development deliverables with mission priorities and cross-team integration goals.
• Support deployment in both on-prem and cloud environments
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying Java-based applications (Java, Spring Boot, Mongo, AWS Services, Javascript/Typescript, Angular, REST.)
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs for data interaction and service integration
• Demonstrated experience designing or working with graph databases (ArangoDB) for link analysis
• Experience conducting unit and integration testing and writing clear, maintainable code
• Experience using JIRA and working within Agile or multidisciplinary development teams
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated deployment tools within cloud or hybrid environments.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
Certifications
• AWS Developer Associate (Preferred)
• Java Developer Certification (Preferred)
