Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) sector is looking for an Avionics Integration Section Manager in support of STRIKE. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, Florida.
In addition to performing a technical statement of work (SOW), the Section Manager will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 10-15 engineers responsible for development, production and field support of Avionics equipment which may include Communication, Navigation, Data Link, Computer, Network, Antenna, SIGINT, EW, Weapons, Radar, Sensor and/or Payload sub-systems. This position requires the selected candidate to have an existing technical SOW on the program in Melbourne, FL.

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Leads a team of avionics engineers (20%), in addition to performing an avionics technical SOW on a STRIKE IPT (80%)
- Provides functional leadership and direction to section members, ensuring members have sufficient statement of work, managing member performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)
- Coordinates with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and ensuring their members are familiar with and use required engineering processes and tools.
- Acts as first point of contact for performance issues on programs involving section members and will make decisions regarding required escalation and resources required for resolution.
- Responsibilities also include day-to-day operation of the functional organization including decisions regarding awards, performance evaluations, salary review process, staffing, employee movement between programs, balancing resources among programs, employee development and mentoring, ensuring proper charging practices are followed, meeting indirect budget targets, and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related professional/military experience
- Avionics experience in the areas of Communication, Navigation, Data Link, Computer, Network, Antenna, SIGINT, EW, Weapons, Radar, Sensor and/or Payload sub-systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead and/or manage an engineering team
- Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher that was granted or renewed in the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace or Systems Engineering
- Top Secret Security Clearance
- Current SAP/PAR
- Prior experience as a lead or manager of a technical team (such as IPT Lead, Functional Manager, Small Group/Project/Program Lead, Technical Lead)
- Knowledge of Functional Homeroom processes (e.g., Staffing, Processes, Metrics, Training)
- Strong technical trouble-shooting skills
- Possess technical discipline credibility to provide "backstop" support to programs as required on behalf of team members
- Experience leading a team of diverse individuals toward a common objective is desired
- Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Strong team building/collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
