Duties
As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC LEAD, WL-8852-10, you will lead three or more aircraft mechanics,crew chiefs, and specialist personnel performing work in the inspection docks. Monitor the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes along assignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available. Insure that assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities. Advise the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g.,additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees). Perform other duties as assigned.

Military Grades: E-5 through E-6 (E6 - must be willing to down grade to E5)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have 18 months specialized experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
