Hiring an applicant who retired from Active Duty (includes AGR) for T5 NG Employee positions. In accordance with DOD Instruction 1402.01 (Employment of Retired Members of the Armed Forces), a retired member of an active duty component cannot be hired for civilian positions in the competitive and excepted service within 180 days of retirement without an approved TAG waiver packet.
As an AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-11, you will:
- Review and analyze aircrew debriefs and data transfer equipment information
- Solve aircraft ordnance malfunctions by analyzing the installation, circuitry and operating characteristics of the electronic ordnance system
- Remove faulty units (matrix assemblies) and isolate problems to failing component parts
- Analyze equipment malfunctions and repair systems and perform aircraft weapons systems functional checks
- Conduct off-equipment troubleshooting and functional checks of electronic weapons control systems
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled in-use/in-storage inspections and maintenance

- Using test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks
Specialized Experience:

- Planning and laying out repair sequence to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions
- Using hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment
- Using a variety of test equipment
- Interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications
