Arete is seeking an Electronics Production Technician to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. The technician assembles, tests, calibrates, and repairs complex electronic systems while ensuring accuracy and quality throughout production. Responsibilities include working from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions; operating related equipment; conducting tests and reporting data in prescribed formats; performing calibration and alignment checks; making adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; and preparing prescribed compounds and solutions. This is a full-time, non-exempt, non-supervisory position based in our Tucson, AZ office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test electro-optical and electronics units for production based on designs, specifications, and procedures.
  • Construct, integrate, and test custom cabling harnesses as needed.
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct testing of electrical, optical, and electro-optical production assemblies following established methods, procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Adjust and calibrate systems as required.
  • Fills out assembly and test documentation. May write and edit procedures
  • Assists in troubleshooting failures to identify root causes of malfunctions. Implements corrective actions
  • Monitor and verify quality of assemblies in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
  • Position requires some interaction with suppliers and customers
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Experiences and Background We Look For (required skills):
  • Associates Degree or 4+ years of related Experience
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Previous experience in a production electronics environment
  • Good command of basic electronics and the ability to work with sensitive circuitry
  • Use of basic electronics equipment such as AC/DC power supplies, DMM, oscilloscopes
  • Tool and asset management, organization, lab maintenance, and tool and consumable expiration date management
  • Use of hand tools/torque tools
  • Effective professional written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Take direction, input, and feedback from internal customers such as lab managers and program managers and implement solutions
  • Soldering experience, especially J-STD-001 certification

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $65,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills
