Data Architect

Position Overview Marathon TS is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to drive our client's success by designing and optimizing secure, scalable, and interoperable data architectures. This role requires deep expertise in cloud and on-premise data solutions, compliance with DOD frameworks and strategic leadership in data governance and security. As the Data Architect, you will collaborate closely with AI teams, data engineers, and compliance officers to build the foundation for mission-critical, AI-driven solutions Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance data architectures supporting AI-driven solutions.
• Ensure compliance with the government while establishing best practices for secure, standardized data management.
• Develop and enforce robust data governance, security policies, and access controls aligned with DOD regulations.
• Architect data models and storage solutions optimized for AI applications and advanced analytics.
• Collaborate with AI and engineering teams to integrate data pipelines and drive interoperability across military systems.
• Provide technical leadership by defining best practices, mentoring teams, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 8-10+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data modeling.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Python, SQL, and NoSQL; experience with both cloud-based (Azure) and on-premises data solutions.
• AI/ML Experience: Knowledge of AI/ML data infrastructures and pipelines.
• Azure Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and other Azure-based AI/ML data solutions.
• Security & Compliance: Deep knowledge of data security best practices, governance frameworks (DOD VAULTIS, RMF, NIST).
• Scalability & Performance: Proven ability to design scalable, high-performance data architectures for AI applications.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in DOD or government agencies.
• Familiarity with legal data systems and case management platforms.
