Job Description

Eccalon is seeking a skilled and versatile COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST that is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to meet the mission of Eccalon and its clients. The primary role of the COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST is to develop and execute communication strategies that align with corporate objectives. This includes building positive relationships with employees, customers, media, and community partners. The COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST also oversees media relations, crisis communication, internal communication, and measure the success of communication initiatives.

The COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST will successfully oversee a diverse team of professionals by employing effective leadership and communication strategies. They will provide clear direction and guidance to writers, editors, graphics designers, video content developers, event coordinators, market researchers, and instructional designers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities. The COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST will foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encourage teamwork and leverage the unique skills and expertise of each team member. They will establish efficient workflows, prioritize tasks, and provide necessary resources to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.


Responsibilities
• Leadership and Collaboration: Provide guidance and mentorship to the communications team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Collaborate with other departments and senior executives to integrate communication strategies into overall organizational goals and initiatives.
• Messaging and Storytelling: Craft consistent and compelling messages and stories to engage audiences and convey the mission, values, and impact.
• Communications Planning: Create comprehensive communications plans to include messaging frameworks, content calendars, and communication tactics.
• Digital and Social Media Strategy: Develop strategies to leverage social media channels effectively, engage with online communities, monitor online conversations, and respond to inquiries and feedback promptly.
• Strategic Media Campaigns: Develop, implement, and manage strategic media campaigns to enhance the visibility and reputation of the client.
• Media Relations: Develop press releases and media kits, and coordinate interviews and media coverage to ensure accurate and positive representation of the organization.
• Media Inquiries and Stakeholder Engagement: Manage and respond to media and stakeholder inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Events Strategy and Management: Develop and execute an events strategy to include event planning, branding, creative elements, and logistics.
• Conference and Meeting Branding and Creative Elements: Drive the creative elements that ensures a consistent and professional visual identity across meeting materials.
• Presentation Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop presentations that are tailored to different audiences.
• Content/Articles: Develop and curate engaging and informative content to include articles, news updates, blogs, white papers, social media posts, podcasts, YouTube channel, and other communications.
• Newsletters and Press Releases: Develop and distribute newsletters to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, updates, and initiatives.
• Executive Speeches and Presentations: Assist senior executives in crafting impactful speeches and presentations.
• Video Production and Multimedia Campaigns: Manage video production projects, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, and coordination.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to foster positive relationships, address concerns, and promote understanding and support for the organization's goals.
• Internal Communications: Develop internal communication strategies, including employee newsletters, town halls, and intranet platforms, to keep employees informed, engaged, and motivated.
• Crisis Communication: Develop crisis communication plans, coordinate messaging, provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders, and ensure transparency and timely updates to maintain trust and confidence.
• Measurement and Evaluation: Establish metrics and measurement systems to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of communication efforts. Analyze data and feedback to assess the success of campaigns, make data-driven decisions, and continuously improve communication strategies.

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience developing and executing communication strategy.
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
• Must have a current secret security clearance.
• Proven background in branding, creative design, and event management.
• Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and multimedia production.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated history in project planning and process management.
• Superb judgment and emotional intelligence with ability to forge consensus among divergent views.
• Ability to connect with and inspire people to drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Exemplary writing skills.
• Ability to distill complex information into digestible bites for varying audiences.
• Business acumen and fluency in the fundamentals of communications.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience in executive speech writing and presentations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in strategic communications and media relations.
