The Boeing Company is currently seeking a talented and visionary Software Engineering Manager to support our esteemed Technical Excellence Center located in Mesa Arizona. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

As a Software Engineering Manager at Boeing, you will lead and support a team of software development engineers, who will be working on various programs throughout the company. You will build and leverage connections across organizations to solicit and respond to time-sensitive staffing requests. We are seeking a manager with experience in software product development-including tools, processes, and ideally platform ecosystems-who is familiar with the software engineering lifecycle or has a background in software engineering.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of software developers, fostering their career growth and building a strong team culture based on inclusion, innovation, and respect
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and motivate the team to achieve common objectives through effective teamwork
  • Collaborate with customers and other leaders to clearly define expectations and deliver exceptional solutions
  • Drive innovation by looking beyond current practices and utilizing creative thinking to discover new opportunities and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform and implement the company's technology strategy, with a special focus on execution and timely delivery


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar engineering/computer/aerospace or technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience in software product development including software tools and processes, ideally within a platform ecosystem


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Proven experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, fostering career growth and cultivating an inclusive, innovative, and respectful team culture
  • Proven experience attracting, developing, and challenging a diverse group of developers with a passion for driving excellence in software development
  • Familiarity with automation techniques to increase pace and flexibility within the enterprise
  • Thoughtful point of view on industry trends impacting data analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning


Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Manager Level: $132,600 - 179,400
