The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Virtual) to support our Software Products & Capabilities, Common Embedded team l o cated in Mesa, AZ.

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate .

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of low-level, embedded s oftware e ngineering
• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
• Manages, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Minimum 3 years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activities
• Minimum 5 years of experience with the software development life cycle

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
• Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
• Strong communication , presentation and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, management/business skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to chang e
• Strong background in low-level , embedded software engineering
• Knowledgeable of industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software
• Knowledgeable of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations .

Summary pay range for Manager Level: $ 123,250 - $192,050
