Duties

  • You will direct the development of threats, risks, and vulnerability assessments and their integration into an overall Risk Management Plan for the command.
  • You will perform drills to include entry and exit inspections.
  • You will create written statements to explain the basis for security decisions.
  • You will analyze personnel security and suitability theories and concepts to develop innovative improvements to the Personnel Security Program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

  • Works call back and/or emergency overtime.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Performing installation security assessments, training and associated duties designed to provide security program support; 2) Assisting the assessment officer in installation self-assessments and all integrated assessments during off cycle years; 3) Providing training and other support to assist installations exercises and drills in accordance with higher headquarters guidance; 4) Participating in planning and policy meetings, working groups and performing coordination with tasked and affected units/agencies to ensure documents are vetted before forwarding for higher-level review. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.
