Responsibilities
Noblis is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to work in dynamic mission-oriented environment within Bethesda, Maryland. A successful candidate will be responsible for designing and / or developing and implementing complex systems using a model-centric approach. You will be responsible for applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define, design, analyze, and document system architectures and behaviors. The ideal candidate will have experience with systems modeling tools and a strong understanding of systems engineering principles across the full development lifecycle.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Noblis is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to work in dynamic mission-oriented environment within Bethesda, Maryland. A successful candidate will be responsible for designing and / or developing and implementing complex systems using a model-centric approach. You will be responsible for applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define, design, analyze, and document system architectures and behaviors. The ideal candidate will have experience with systems modeling tools and a strong understanding of systems engineering principles across the full development lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply MBSE methodologies to support system design, requirements analysis, and architecture development.
- Develop and maintain system models using tools like SysML in MagicDraw/Cameo, Rhapsody, or similar.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, integration, and test engineering to ensure model consistency and traceability.
- Create and manage system architecture, interface definitions, and behavioral models.
- Use models to support trade studies, simulations, and design decision-making.
- Participate in system design reviews and support verification and validation (V&V) activities.
- Maintain traceability from system requirements to system architecture and design elements.
- Contribute to the development of MBSE standards, methods, and best practices within the organization.
- Generate documentation and reports based on model artifacts to support project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and CI Polygraph.
- Typically requires a BS degree and 8+ of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., MagicDraw, Rational Rhapsody, Cameo, Genesys, etc.).
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Systems Engineer, or similar role.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., UAF, TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF).
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles (e.g., INCOSE SE Handbook).
- Experience with requirements management and traceability using tools like DOORS or Jama.
- Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle (concept through disposal).
- Familiarity with model automation, simulation tools (e.g., Simulink, Modelica), and associated analysis.
- Knowledge of Agile or DevOps practices in a systems engineering context.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
