Overview
Deploy360 is currently hiring a Civil Engineer SME. This position will be located in Doha, Qatar.
Responsibilities
• Provide civil/structural engineering and construction project monitoring services to augment in-house capabilities for the AFCENT TSG.
• Support cradle-to-grave functions for base engineering requirements including assessment, planning, project development, construction monitoring, and project closeout.
• Review and analyze project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.
• Monitor Host Nation-funded project development work for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, according to all applicable laws, codes, and guidelines.
• Interpret methods and approaches in developing project calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.
• Monitor all project phases with appropriate managers and maintain current engineering data for assigned projects.
• Coordinate projects with AFCENT TSG engineers in other disciplines, operations personnel, and other U.S. Government entities to ensure safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability are addressed.
• Review and monitor Host Nation engineering investigative services including power, water, wastewater, and HVAC studies.
• Monitor and report on construction, renovation, and improvement projects using professional engineering knowledge for roads, utilities, airfields, and facilities.
• Review as-built drawings and verify compliance with design specifications.
• Ensure Host Nation compliance with contracted specifications, schedules, drawings, and statements of work.
• Use AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, GIS, and other engineering software to track and support projects.
• Advise Host Nation construction teams regarding installation development and operations to ensure U.S. requirements are met.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental codes including DoD, Air Force, and AFCEC standards.
• Assist in base master planning and community planning initiatives ensuring project alignment with the Site Master Plan (SMP).
• Prepare documents and presentations accurately and on schedule.
• Review proposed facility siting locations and recommend approvals or waivers to assure SMP compliance.
• Represent AFCENT TSG in community planning meetings and conferences to identify and resolve engineering challenges.
• Monitor Host Nation surveying services and ensure integration into GIS/AutoCAD Civil 3D databases.
• Assist as a liaison with USACE or other design and operating agencies as required.
• Maintain engineering continuity across rotations and ensure process improvement based on U.S. and Host Nation standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 4 years of experience (or commensurate experience).
• Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
• Security Clearance Required: Secret.
• Capable of performing civil design services including preparation of site drawings, structural evaluations, and water/sewer designs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or later and able to create accurate facility and infrastructure plans.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Physically able to deploy to the CENTCOM AOR and travel between ADAB and AUAB TSG sites as required, up to 4 times per year.
