Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to support a federal program out of Tysons, VA. This role involves designing and developing integrated electronic security systems including CCTV, video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems. ***Must have an Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance***
Responsibilities of the Electrical Designer Engineer:
· Design and develop electrical layouts and schematics for security systems in commercial, industrial, and government facilities
· Collaborate with security consultants, project managers, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance with industry standards
· Specify and integrate components from vendors such as Lenel, Bosch, AMAG, Milestone, etc.
· Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions
· Prepare technical documentation including bill of materials (BOM), wiring diagrams, and installation instructions
· Ensure designs meet applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, UL, etc.) and client specifications
· Support commissioning and troubleshooting of installed systems.
Qualifications of the Electrical Design Engineer:
· 8+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in security systems (CCTV, ACS, IDS, Video Surveillance, etc.)
· Strong experience working for DoD federal programs
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office (Excel)
· Strong understanding of low-voltage systems and structured cabling
· Familiarity with IP-based surveillance and access control technologies
· Certifications in Lenel, Milestone, AMAG, Bosch, CCURE, Software House strong desired
· Must have an Active Secret or Top Secret TS/SCI Clearance
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Compensation of the Electrical Design Engineer:
· Salary: Between $110,000 - $170,000 *based on years of relevant experience*
