A leading small government contractor is seeking an experienced Backend Software Developer to support a mission-critical program within the Intelligence Community. This is a fully onsite position offering the opportunity to work on innovative systems that directly support national security objectives. Ideal candidates will bring strong backend development skills, experience with Python and C# and/or Java, and thrive in collaborative, Agile environments.
Responsibilities:
Enhance existing codebases and integrate backend solutions supporting mission applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues involving REST APIs, databases, and applications.
Develop and document functionality in GitLab repositories, applying DevOps practices within an Agile framework.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies, iterative testing, and backlog refinement using Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence).
Apply cloud computing expertise to administer systems, modify GOTS code, and integrate open-source solutions.
Collaborate with teammates to review tickets, ensure proper testing, and deliver functionality that aligns with acceptance criteria.
Support development of systems involving analytics, exploitation, production, and dissemination using web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies.
Required Qualifications:
Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI post-hire.
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
3+ years of experience with Python and C# and/or Java frameworks.
4+ years of experience with unit testing, CI tools, and GitLab.
Experience with cloud/SOA/web services or virtualization.
Proficient in C#/Java with working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.
Familiarity with DoD 8570 compliance requirements.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Linux and/or Windows system administration experience.
Familiarity with DoD aeronautical datasets.
Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Node, NPM, Swashbuckle, REST API, Sass.
DevOps certification or C# Developer certification.
Experience with Jira and Confluence.
