Position Summary
The Telecommunications Network Engineer - Basic provides technical support in the design, installation, and maintenance of telecommunications and data networks across the customer's enterprise. Working under general supervision, this role contributes to the analysis and implementation of LAN/WAN systems, voice and video networks, and wireless services. The engineer assists in developing network specifications, identifying solutions to moderately complex problems, and ensuring reliable and secure telecommunications operations in support of mission-critical functions.

Position Summary

The engineer assists in developing network specifications, identifying solutions to moderately complex problems, and ensuring reliable and secure telecommunications operations in support of mission-critical functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, cabling, and related network components.
- Perform basic network diagnostics and troubleshooting under senior supervision.
- Support fiber and structured cabling installation and documentation.
- Monitor and maintain network performance using tools such as Cisco Prime, Splunk, INFOBLOX, and Ansible.
- Participate in change management, patching, and upgrade cycles.
- Document technical issues and resolutions in ticketing systems.
- Support 24/7/365 operations and on-call requirements as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Active and current Secret federal security clearance
- Minimum 3 years of network operations or telecommunications support experience.
- Associate's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, SSCP, or equivalent).
- At least one Computing Environment (CE) certification (Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN operations, network monitoring, and cabling standards (Cat6/Fiber).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
