Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking an experienced Application Developer skilled in Java and Spring Boot to support modernization initiatives for a federal education client. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software systems that enhance performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
What You'll Do
As an Application Developer, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Translate functional and business requirements into technical specifications and efficient code.
- Architect and implement solutions that align with system constraints and scalability needs.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing to ensure high code quality.
- Partner with DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and ensure successful releases.
- Document code, APIs, and architectural components for effective knowledge sharing.
- Participate in peer code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Modernize legacy systems by migrating from Java 8 to Java 21 and leveraging enhanced language capabilities.
Schedule & Shift Details
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Hybrid in San Antonio, TX; support during Central business hours
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required (Dual Citizens acceptable)
- Public Trust clearance required or higher
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development and enterprise applications
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Java - 3-5 years
- Spring Boot - 3-5 years
