Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking an experienced Application Developer to support modernization and development efforts across multiple system domains for a federal education client. This role is ideal for a developer with a passion for designing scalable, maintainable software solutions and driving continuous improvement across complex enterprise applications.
What You'll Do
As an Application Developer, you will:
- Design and develop robust, maintainable, and scalable software solutions across multiple environments.
- Architect technical implementations that meet business requirements and align with system constraints.
- Translate functional specifications into detailed technical designs and efficient, high-quality code.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system testing to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and production releases.
- Document code, APIs, and architecture to promote knowledge sharing and sustainability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across all phases of the SDLC.
- Conduct root cause analysis of production incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Modernize legacy systems by migrating from Java 8 to Java 21, leveraging enhanced features and performance optimizations.
Schedule, Salary & Shift Details
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Hybrid in Washington, D.C.; support during East Coast business hours
- Salary: 125k
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required (Dual Citizens acceptable)
- Public Trust clearance required or higher
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in full-stack or enterprise software development
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Java - 3-5 years
- Spring Batch - 3-5 years
- Structured Query Language (SQL) - 3-5 years
