Pay: $55 - $60 an hour
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities: Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate operational network solutions across LAN, BAN, and WAN environments.
- Develop and maintain support plans to ensure reliable and high-performing network operations.
- Provide Tier II (second-level) support for network infrastructure and related systems.
- Analyze customer business processes to identify system support requirements aligned with Enterprise Services (ES) and vendor capabilities.
- Implement new or upgraded network designs in coordination with project and support teams.
- Participate in network design and performance evaluations, providing recommendations for optimization.
- Advise on distributed network computing and infrastructure planning.
- Monitor and maintain security and integrity standards across all network environments.
- Evaluate, test, and recommend hardware, software, and configuration updates based on system performance and needs.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Analyze user requirements and performance metrics to identify trends and resolve network issues.
- Review and maintain site administration and network documentation.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends to identify performance and cost improvement opportunities.
Experience Requirements: Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years supporting enterprise-level network environments.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and network security principles.
- Proficiency with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis tools.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams on technical implementations.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Operating System (OS) or Application Certification required (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA).
- Preferred: Experience supporting federal or enterprise-scale IT environments.
- Preferred: Familiarity with ITIL-based support processes.
Education Requirements: Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
- Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification.
