Huntsville, AL (On-Site/Office)
MTSI is currently seeking to hire a Fire Control Optimization (AI) Engineer Senior to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.
The "Golden Dome for America" initiative is a transformative program designed to enhance missile defense capabilities for North America. With its layered approach to intercepting and tracking threats-ranging from traditional ballistic missiles to advanced hypersonic weapons-the program is poised to address the increasingly sophisticated missile arsenals of China, Russia, North Korea, and potentially Iran in the coming decades. Its implementation marks a significant shift toward resilient, distributed, and proliferated space-based architectures as critical components of an integrated deterrence strategy.
The Fire Control Optimization (AI) Engineer Senior will lead efforts to design, develop, and implement advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms to optimize fire control solutions for space systems supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) missions. This individual will leverage their expertise in AI/ML, fire control systems, and real-time decision optimization to enhance mission capabilities in complex and contested environments.
The role requires in-depth technical knowledge of fire control systems, AI/ML methodologies, and space systems, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to improve targeting accuracy, operational responsiveness, and situational awareness. The Fire Control Optimization (AI) Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, systems engineers, and Warfighter operators, to ensure the successful integration of optimized fire control solutions into mission architectures.
Job Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with 10 years' related experience; master's degree preferred.
Technical Skills:
Required Security Clearance:
