Help
- You will perform nondestructive inspection of castings, forgings, machined parts, metal cladding, airframe and engine assemblies, non-metallic materials, and other ferrous and non ferrous metals using NDI test equipment and measuring instruments.
- You will perform traditional nondestructive inspection using chemicals that are applicable to the total range on nondestructive examination methods.
- You will calibrate and operate traditional test equipment according to specifications.
- You will inspect parts for flaws or defects, anomalies in patterns, interpret indications, and document flaws or defects in material and prepare reports on defective parts.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to maintain a current Level II certification in at least three of the following methods: eddy current testing(ET), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), ultrasonic testing, UT, X-Ray, and temper etch (TE)
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain required certification and/ or license as a condition of employment

- Performing traditional nondestructive inspection of castings, forgings, machined parts, test plates, welds, metal cladding, pipes, bar stock, flat metal sheets, airframe and engine assemblies and nonmetallic materials (composites) and mechanical equipment utilizing nondestructive test equipment and measuring instruments and chemical applicable to the total range of nondestructive examination methods.
- Calibrating and operates traditional test equipment such as ultrasonic testing (UT) equipment, eddy current testing (ET) equipment, magnetic particle testing (MT) equipment, penetrant testing (PT) equipment, visual testing (VT) equipment and temper etch (TE) equipment according to specifications for the particular type of test equipment and to use the required various techniques or methods for examination;
- Reading and interpreting specifications, sketches, blueprints, technical directives, manuals, and shop orders;
- Performing general maintenance and minor repair to Non-Destructive Inspection equipment;
- Documenting inspection results and indicating acceptance or rejection according to specifications;
- Performing Non-Destructive Inspection on various forms of ferrous, composite, and nonferrous aircraft metal and engine parts;
- Complying with required safety regulations.
