Duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the base Information Assurance Specialist in the Information Assurance work center as the wing commander's authority and focal point for Information Assurance. Responsible for oversight of information assurance (IA) personnel, formulating IA policies and procedures, and monitoring IA and Communications Security (COMSEC) compliance at the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS). Manages the communication-computer security (COMPUSEC), Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Emission Security, and Information Assurance Awareness programs. Performs Risk Management Framework (RMF) security determinations of fixed, deployed and mobile information systems (IS) and telecommunications resources to monitor, evaluate and maintain systems, policy and procedures to protect clients, networks, data/voice systems and databases from unauthorized activity. Duties include IA compliance oversight of multiple classified and unclassified IS networks and mission systems. Identifies potential threats and manages resolution of communications security incidents. Enforces national, DoD and Air Force security policies and directives to ensure Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) of IS resources.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience developing, implementing and monitoring information security/cyber security systems, security plans, and procedures throughout EADS. Experience providing security procedures, briefings and training to EADS Staff and mission partners. Experience ensuring the integrity and security of data for all Servers/Workstations through mitigation of security vulnerabilities utilizing recommended/mandated IA Vulnerability Assessments (IAVAs) and system patches. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel

Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. In accordance with DoD 8570, Mandatory Certification of "GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)" and/or "Certified Information System Security Professional" (CISSP), or equivalent DoD 8570 Management Level II certification is required. If Certification is not held, must obtain within six months from initial hiring. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
