Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Columbus, Ohio or Richmond, Virginia.

Employment Type: Full-time.

Salary Range: $165,000 - $175,000.
Program Overview

The Cybersecurity Engineer will support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) under the JETS Program, which provides IT services, technical expertise, and lifecycle management across the DLA IT Enterprise. Support includes applications, infrastructure, operations, sustainment, program management, and information security services across DLA Information Operations (J6), Program Executive Offices (PEO), and other DLA offices.

The Cybersecurity Engineer will apply information assurance (IA) practices to resolve system and technology problems, conduct security assessments, and provide engineering support for the planning, design, testing, and integration of information systems.
Duties of a Cybersecurity Engineer may include but are not limited to:
  • Performing project tasks related to information assurance (IA) requirements.
  • Integrating electronic processes and methodologies to resolve system and technology challenges.
  • Conducting security assessments and consulting services.
  • Analyzing and defining information security requirements.
  • Supporting workflow, organizational, and planning improvements with analytical approaches.
  • Providing security engineering support for planning, design, development, testing, and integration.
  • Analyzing threat information from logs, IDS, intelligence reports, and vendor sources.
Required Skills / Experience
  • Relevant DoD 8570.01 IAT III certification, such as:
    • CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP.
  • DoD 8570 CNDSP Infrastructure Support certification, such as:
    • SSCP, CEH, GISCP, CySA+, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND.
  • Computing Environment requirement (one of the following):
    • ACAS Administrator with 4+ years maintaining vulnerability scanning in a DoD environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant IT experience.
  • Must hold an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must be eligible for IT-I (Top Secret) position designation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience maintaining Linux Operating Systems.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Prior DoD IA experience.
  • 10 years of overall Information Security experience.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent.
