IT Equipment Inventory Clerk/Specialist

Scope:

Our client requires individuals to provide support for the Office of Logistics and Support (L&S), Asset Management office. The individuals must be available to work a full-time schedule Monday through Friday consisting of 40 hours or more per week. Possible Saturday hours. Personnel may not be needed throughout the entire period of performance.

The individual is responsible for assets and inventory. Individual must plan, manage and coordinate activities related to physical inventory. This position does not have supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to identify a piece of office equipment against a printed inventory.
  • Mark inventory according to legend and/or use scanner technology.
  • Experience with Remedy or ticketing software, Excel, and scanners
  • Capable of confirming model and serial numbers on various types of equipment.
  • Must be able to place correct stickers on equipment based on description, serial number and location. Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs., place into cart, and move to the designated area.
  • Daily duties consist of physical mobility such as walking, bending, crouching, and lifting.
  • Ensure all House property is handled carefully in order to prevent damage.
  • Report all discrepancies, problems and mishaps to the manager immediately.
  • Ability and evidence of working independently and within a group.
  • Perform other official duties as assigned.
  • Minimum High School Graduate or GED equivalent with 1-year experience in conducting inventory.


Basic Requirements for all Skillsets:

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with high-profile customers (Members of Congress and staff).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English and dress in a professional manner (business casual) at all times.
  • Detailed orientated and well organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able assist with the movement or lifting of small furniture/ materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Candidate must have flexibility in working hours. This position may vary from 24 hours to 48 hours per week. The month of December during a Congressional election year is normally the greatest hourly workload month.
  • Professional with neat/clean appearance, and punctual.
  • Must be able to follow directions, and function effectively as part of a team, and independently.


Experience:

  • Inventory control: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Using hand held scanner: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Excel: 3 years (Required)
