WHO YOU ARE:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Deployment Engineer to join our technical team. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware systems for our clients environments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automation, system reliability, and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware systems
- Deploy and configure Linux operating systems across physical and virtual environment
- Manage system images and ensure uniformity across multiple Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)
- Coordinate software installations, updates, and patching using package managers and configuration tools
- Distribute software applications, updates, and patches across various environments
- Troubleshoot deployment issues and provide technical support throughout the system lifecycle
- Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, developers, and support staff to ensure successful system implementation
- Document deployment procedures, configurations, and best practices
WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance at minimum
• Education: Bacherlors in IT related field or equivalent
• 7+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience administering locally hosted and cloudbased enterprise systems.
• 7+ years of experience administering servers, backup operations, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environments.
• Solid technical background in system deployment and configuration
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Clear and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and adapt to evolving project needs
• Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
• Ability to travel to multiple DOD sites at least 50 percent of the time
• Security+ CE required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with the Appian Low-code development platform
• Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes
• High proficiency with scripting/coding in Bash and Python.
• Experience implementing and working in a continuous integration (CI) or continuous development (CD) pipeline.
• Experience with Commercial Cloud Hosting providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Knowledge of container management and orchestration tools.
• Comfortable working with highly distributed teams.
• Good balance of strategic and tactical skills; high level of mental agility and capacity for original thought.
• Certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or related Certification
