MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an Audio Visual Engineer, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission readiness and communication capabilities across critical environments. You will play a crucial role in designing, integrating, and supporting AV systems used for secure conferencing, briefings, command centers, and collaboration-ensuring seamless and secure audio-visual experiences for high-impact users.
• Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of AV systems including video conferencing, projection, display, control systems, and sound reinforcement-supporting operational continuity in secure and dynamic environments.
• Collaborate with system administrators, facilities teams, and stakeholders to plan AV upgrades, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with user needs, room configurations, and mission goals.
• Drive innovation in system design and problem resolution by applying best practices in AV engineering, integrating emerging technologies, and delivering reliable solutions under tight timelines.
• Utilize platforms and tools such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, Cisco TelePresence, and AV-over-IP; implement AV control programming, network integration, and ensure system interoperability in classified and unclassified environments.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
The Audio Visual Engineer must have:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in AV engineering, integration, or support-preferably in secure, government, or enterprise environments.
• Technical skills: Crestron/AMX programming, Extron systems, Cisco Webex/TelePresence, AV-over-IP technologies, control system design, signal flow analysis, system schematics, and rack building.
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI
• US citizenship required
• Role requirements: On-site role with occasional travel to support installations, testing, and troubleshooting (~10-15%). Experience with secure AV systems in government or DoD environments strongly preferred.
