We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer based out of Annapolis, MD. We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing secure systems to protect our organization from cyber threats. This role requires in-depth knowledge of cyber security principles, experience in system architecture, and the ability to analyze complex systems for potential vulnerabilities.
This position is 100% onsite, and preferred to be located in Annapolis, MD. Additional locations include: Melbourne, FL, Huntsville, AL, Sunnyvale, CA or Ocean Springs, MS.

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,800.00 - $182,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $130,500.00 - $226,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement cyber security solutions to safeguard the organization's systems and data.
- Conduct threat modeling, security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into all systems and applications.
- Stay up to date on the latest cyber security trends and technologies to proactively mitigate risks.
- Define, decompose, and ensure the integration of cybersecurity throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Apply Zero Trust, Multi-Level Security (MLS), and other advanced security principles.
- Provide expert guidance and training to junior team members and other departments on cyber security best practices.
- Able to work independently without supervision and meet quick deployment deadlines ensuring the solutions meet the customer's product requirements.
- Occasional local and domestic travel for program-related meetings with external contractors/offices.

- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, a master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or a PhD with one year of related experience, OR 9+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and securing complex, cyber-resilient systems in regulated or mission-critical environments in lieu of a college degree.
- U.S Citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI
- Must possess a current DoD 8140 (DoD 8570) Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date or demonstrate the ability to obtain this certification within one year of hiring (example: Security+ CE)
- Experience with vulnerability remediation
- Experience with the Data Collection and Indexing tool Splunk
- Experience with Agile development
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, a master's degree with 6 years of related experience, or a PhD with 4 years of related experience, OR 12+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and securing complex, cyber-resilient systems in regulated or mission-critical environments in lieu of a college degree.
- U.S Citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI
- Must possess a current DoD 8140 (DoD 8570) Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date or demonstrate the ability to obtain this certification within one year of hiring (example: Security+ CE)

- Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and requirements development from control listings
