JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking a highly motivated and driven Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) to work Onsite supporting enterprise IT for our War-fighter customer who upholds America's status as the "Land of the Free" every day, at work, or at play.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in security control validations for Navy systems using the Risk Management Framework (RMF), helping assess controls against NIST SP 800-53 and Navy standards to identify basic issues and support remediations.
- Provide entry-level contributions to proposal and business development by offering validation insights for RFPs and Navy contract planning.
- Support incident response for validation-related findings, including basic analysis of events and assistance in corrective actions.
- Learn about Navy and DoD policy updates, RMF processes, and cybersecurity tools, applying foundational knowledge to validation tasks and training.
- Assist in Navy CA audits, certification reviews, and inspections, supporting liaisons with stakeholders and auditors to address entry-level issues.
- Receive mentoring and provide basic support on Navy validation practices, tools, and methodologies to build team compliance knowledge.
- Contribute to analyzing cybersecurity risks by assisting in evaluations of threats and vulnerabilities, providing input on simple recommendations for system security.
- Collaborate with senior validators, system owners, and teams to integrate basic validation findings into system development and monitoring activities.
- Perform reviews of system configurations, ensuring alignment with DoD 8570.1M and directives from the Navy Certification Authority (CA).
- Support the preparation of validation reports, artifacts, and authorization packages, such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Security Assessment Reports (SARs), to contribute to accreditation processes.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years of experience in a cybersecurity or A&A related field
- Experience implementing and/or reviewing RMF lifecycle documentation
- Experience ensuring/validating the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and information
- Experience conducting risk and vulnerability reviews and assessments to ensure accreditation procedures were followed
- Experience documenting non-compliance

EDUCATION
- BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an Information Technology or related field.
