Network Technician
Columbus AFB, MS - onsite
Must have active Secret clearance
Must be Security+ certified
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and test all network switching and routing devices on both classified and unclassified networks. Network environment is a mixture of both Cisco and Juniper devices and area of responsibility is from the end user up to the installation’s network boundary, at Layers 1, 2, and 3.
• Respond to all network communication closets and providing on-site customer support.
• Assist with VoIP support, maintain accountability of equipment, and respond to all RFIs, taskers, and suspenses.
• Utilize ticketing systems such as ServiceNow for all requests and incidents.
• Assist with server and network actions as needed.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience in a network support role.
• Must be Security+ certified.
• Must be Cisco or Juniper certified or able to obtain the certification within six months.
• Experience with Cisco or Juniper routers and switches.
• Knowledge of Command Line Interface (CLI) and Putty.
• Experience with SolarWinds, Forescout, and TACLANE desired.
• Experience completing DISA Standard Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) a plus.
• Knowing best practices as it relates to network configurations and network security.
• Familiarity with DISA/DoD/AF regulations, instructions, and guidance desired.
• Must be self-motivated, customer-oriented, and have excellent communication skills.
• Able to work with customers on a variety of network issues and adapt quickly to changes in workload and priorities.
• Able to lift and install network devices in excess of 25lbs.
• Some evening and weekend work may be required for service interruptions on a case-by-case basis.
• Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
