Contributions
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of cybersecurity engineers across multiple concurrent projects and workstreams, providing direction, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Represent the cybersecurity engineering team in customer-facing meetings, communicate technical findings, prioritize customer requests, and drive forward effective solutions.
- Advocate for and ensure appropriate security practices are communicated and implemented throughout all relevant team projects and system portfolios.
- Coordinate with operational, development, and security teams to ensure findings are efficiently understood, remediated, and managed.
- Establish team processes, maintain SOPs and knowledge bases.
- Build and maintain organizational plans for resource allocation, workload balancing, and project prioritization to meet deadlines and service-level commitments.
- Interface and ensure accurate reporting for all official deliverables to internal & external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
- BS in an IT field & 7+ years of IT work, including 2+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or managerial role OR BS in a non-IT field and 9 years of IT work, including 2+ years in management
- One or more active certifications related to area of subject matter expertise
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and complex projects in a technical environment
Preferred
- Prior experience in a lead engineering role
- Experience leading cloud security initiatives
- Strong understanding of Federal IT Compliance and DHS-specific regulations.
- Ability to analyze security environments and provide strategic recommendations
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Service Now, or equivalent project management platforms
- Hands-on experience with Vulnerability Scan tools and underlying data
- Strong customer service orientation and experience communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Certifications
- Possesses at least one active professional certification relevant to the technical service provided
- Certification in leadership or project management (such as PMP, CSM, or relevant management certification) preferred
