Description of Duties:

Position Title: Sr. Cloud Engineer

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Clearance Type: DoD Secret

Shift: Day shift

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

The Sr. Cloud Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

· Be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that integrate seamlessly with our Government Customer's infrastructure.

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of scalable and reliable Commercial Cloud solutions.

· Lead the design and management of the organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy.

· Responsible for several cloud and containerization computing roles focusing on engineering, architecture, development, and administration.

· Assesses a project's technology infrastructure and explores options for moving to the cloud and containerization.

· Oversees the migration and maintains the new system leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IAC) utilities such as Terraform, HELM, Ansible and Bash

· Provides expertise in container hardening to meet DoD and MDA compliance standards

· Develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms.

· Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the project.

· Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology.

Qualifications - External

Basic Requirements:

· Must have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience

o May be reduced with completion of advanced education

· Must have 5, or more, years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS and Azure

· Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role

· Must be proficient in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Red Hat OpenShift.

· Must have experience with Coder Platform

· Must have a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

· Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+).

· Must have an active DoD Secret clearance

Desired Requirements:

· Active DoD Secret clearance

· AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification

· AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

· AWS Certified Developer-Associate

This position is expected to pay $155,000 - $195,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
