Position: Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) III
Location: 3 Reasons Consulting (3RC)
About the Role
3 Reasons Consulting is seeking experienced cybersecurity professionals with 10+ years of experience to join our team as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV). In this position, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding information systems and data by evaluating cybersecurity risks, implementing best practices, and collaborating on Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities. Your contributions will be vital to our mission of securing information systems against evolving threats.
Primary Responsibilities
Apply specialized cybersecurity knowledge to create solutions for complex challenges.
Act as an SME in A&A activities, leading risk and vulnerability assessments on information systems.
Conduct and lead A&A status meetings with government and contract personnel, addressing RMF system efforts.
Monitor and implement updates related to cybersecurity and RMF policies.
Develop, review, and update RMF documentation (e.g., Security Plans, Implementation Plans, POA&Ms, Risk Assessment Reports).
Ensure systems meet NIST and DoD security standards, providing evidence for compliance.
Collaborate with technical staff to update security policies and process guides.
Analyze vulnerability scans and assist in remediation.
Submit weekly reports on system and program status.
Required Qualifications
Navy SCA-appointed Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) III.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, communications systems management, or an equivalent science, technology, engineering & mathematics (STEM) degree from an accredited college or university.
DoD 8570 certification (IAT Level II).
Experience with DoD tools such as eMASS and RMF, particularly within the Department of the Navy.
Strong background in RMF package development (POA&Ms, Security Plans, architecture diagrams).
Familiarity with NIST publications and DISA STIGs/SRGs.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Clearance Requirement
Active security clearance.
