Oracle Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently looking for an Oracle Developer to support one of our federal partners on a hybrid schedule in Merrifield, VA . The Oracle Developer will join a collaborative team supporting core engineering systems, including automation, logistics, and tracking platforms.

Responsibilities for the Oracle Developer include:

• Support and maintain enterprise applications built on ASP/IIS, Java, and WebSphere platforms.
• Develop and optimize PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database objects to improve performance and reliability.
• Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning using tools like SQL Tuning Advisor, Explain Plan, and ADDM.
• Collaborate with software engineers and analysts to support the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Write and maintain shell scripts for automation tasks in Unix/Linux environments.
• Manage source control using Git or Subversion and follow best practices for versioning and deployment.
• Document technical processes and provide support for production issues in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications for the Oracle Developer include:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in software development and Oracle database engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with PL/SQL, SQL optimization, and database maintenance.
• Familiarity with ASP, IIS, Java, Eclipse, and WebSphere.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting and system-level database management.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git or SVN.
• Bonus skills: VB.NET, C#, C++, Classic ASP, Perl scripting.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a background investigation .

Compensation for the Oracle Developer include:

• Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 *depending on experience*
