Description
SAIC's Horizon 2 program is seeking a Systems Engineer with Cyber Security subject matter expertise to support the U.S. Space Forces mission of delivering warfighter capability via the Space Systems Command's Space Combat Power weapon system portfolio. This position is available in El Segundo, California.
This position will provide guidance and direction on subjects relating to the conduct and activities of cybersecurity strategy development. The successful candidate communicates complex programmatic cybersecurity planning information, orally and in writing, elicits understanding and support from professional peers and non-specialists. Demonstrates broad, expert knowledge of the Directorates mission, authorities, and capabilities as well as equivalent information regarding the roles and responsibilities of the external program mission partners which includes (but not limited to) other DoD components, other U.S. Government agencies and test organizations such as Lead Developmental Test Organizations and Operational Test Agencies. Evaluates and conducts development of corresponding and necessary system security requirements and assists in creating cybersecurity strategies.

Daily activities include:
- Provides technical knowledge and analysis of complex problems that need knowledge of current best practices and Government mandated policies for effective development and implementation of cybersecurity solutions
- Possesses understanding and has experience in the application of cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts in the required technical field, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
- Provides technical expertise in areas such as Information Systems Architecture, Weapon Systems Architecture, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications, Network Systems Management, etc.
- Provides technical expertise in areas that have system security and/or cybersecurity touch points such as logistics/supply chain management, defensive cyberspace operations, joint operations planning, policy, technical intelligence, etc.
- Initiates action for providing support to various on-going and/or required working groups such as system security working groups, cybersecurity working groups, change management boards, etc.
Qualifications
This is you:
- Bachelors and 5 years or more experience with:
- Program security and information systems security best practices, expertise and hands-on experience with security accreditation process
- Applicable IC and DoD policies, procedures, and operating instructions related to program security, information assurance, information management, configuration management, and cyber defense
- Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
Desired Qualifications: - CISSP, Security+, and Network+ certifications
- Relevant experience and knowledge of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO)
- Experience within the National Security Space and, or the Space Control mission area.
- Experience working in development environment and, or U.S. Government weapons system program office.
