What You'll Get To Do:

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

• Designs arrangement of equipment within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

• Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

• Performs total productive maintenance, 6S Audit management, tracks yield, scrap, and parts consumption for all fabrication efforts.

• Creates Work Plans for Electro Mechanical products within shop floor control system.

• Works closely with production floor supervisor, quality, and design engineering and supports day to day production activities.

• Complete understanding of assembly level build hierarchy.

• Understands and interprets engineering drawings and recommend design changes to ease of product manufacturability

• Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques across manufacturing environment

• Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2, who will support the Production Organization based in San Diego, CA.

Basic Qualifications:

- BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related STEM Technical field with a mimmun2 year industry experience.

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings

• Experience in computer assisted design software (SolidWorks/CATIA)

• Experience with creating Work Instructions and Visual Aids within shop floor system

• Experience with dispositioning non-conformances

• Experience with hands on support of assembly and build of electro-mechanical assemblies in production or in development.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP MRP and Solumina experience a plus

• IPC-620 and J-STD-001 Certification

• Candidate should also have a general understanding of continuous improvement, Six Sigma and Lean methodologies in a low volume, high mix, engineer to order, manufacturing environment.

• Experience with creating and setting up production and assembly lines and processes.

• Experience with shop routing in a low-level kitting and assembly/processing environment.

• Familiar with Material Review Boards for product/quality deviation.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
