Duties
Help
  • You will overhaul, repair, and reassemble aircraft systems, including removing, replacing, installing, and aligning components according to technical manuals.
  • You will visually inspect components to diagnose issues and conduct pressure tests on systems to verify functionality after repairs are complete.
  • You will assist with flight line operations, including aircraft checkouts, inspecting for leaks, and standing fire guard during engine starts.
  • You will perform basic preservation duties, including corrosion control, minor lubrication, and conducting regular preservation inspections.
  • You will collaborate with higher-graded employees to accomplish larger and more complex operations like installing engines or leveling aircraft.
  • You will operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and use a variety of common and precision hand tools to complete maintenance tasks.
  • You will inspect, disassemble, reassemble, and test armament mounts such as bomb racks and missile launchers.
  • You will use technical manuals to look up parts and make precise entries into aircraft records to document all work accomplished.
  • You will obtain oil samples and remove filters from aircraft systems for off-site laboratory evaluation.
  • You will independently select tools and methods for assignments, ensuring all work meets requirements by checking technical specifications.
  • You will consistently follow all safety rules and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each task.
  • You will actively participate in and improve command programs for Quality, Safety, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and tool control.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position requires near vision correctable at 14" to Jaeger 2. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20. Eye protection is required in hazardous areas in the form of glasses w/side shield and face shield.
  • This position is subject to various noise levels, which continuously exceed 85 DBA. Hearing protection must be worn for noise levels of 85 DBA.
  • The job requires physical exertion requires moderate lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 lbs.

The job requires physical exertion requires moderate lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 lbs. Tasks will be performed standing, sitting, and walking. At times, pulling, pushing, stooping, and reaching are required with prolonged kneeling, bending, and squatting for four to six hours.

Position is subject to various noise levels, which continuously exceed 85 DBA. Note: Hearing
protection must be worn for noise levels of 85 DBA.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
