About Stratias
Stratias is a mission-focused digital transformation firm that helps the Department of Defense modernize critical systems at speed and scale. We specialize in program modernization through application rationalization, code refactoring, cloud migration, data pipelining, and SaaS integration. Our teams combine Agile delivery, DevSecOps practices, and deep mission expertise to drive results for the Air Force and across the defense enterprise.

Why Join Us
At Stratias, you won’t be a small cog in a massive machine—you’ll be a core part of a fast-growing team that’s helping shape the future of defense IT. We hire subject-matter experts who understand both the technology and the mission. You’ll get the freedom to innovate, the support of a collaborative team, and benefits designed for real work-life balance.

The Role
We're seeking a mid-level Cloud Platform Engineer (DevSecOps) with 5+ years of experience. This is an incredible opportunity to transform how the Air Force handles data, moving away from the limitations of siloed, monolithic datasets. We're building a secure, scalable Data Mesh Environment (DME) that will unlock advanced data discovery, access, and interoperability across the Department of the Air Force (DAF). This isn't just a technical upgrade; it's a fundamental shift that will provide our warfighters with real-time, governed access to diverse and distributed data products. Imagine the possibilities: faster decision-making in dynamic operational environments, improved interoperability between domains, and a new foundation for distributed data operations.

By enabling a unified approach to identity access management, enterprise metadata tagging, and streaming data pipelines, we are creating a resilient platform that will accelerate data readiness and give our military a critical decision advantage. The DME will ensure secure, scalable integrations and automated Zero Trust policy enforcement. The work we're doing will directly support the Cloud One mission. We will be designing the architecture, prototyping core capabilities, and providing the long-term sustainment needed to ensure mission continuity. This project will empower our forces with the data they need, when they need it, to stay ahead of any adversary.

Responsibilities:
● Infrastructure Design and Management: The Platform/Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for assisting with the design, building, and maintaining the entire infrastructure for the data mesh. This includes managing both the Omni AWS environment and the integration with the Cloud One environment.
● CI/CD Pipeline Management: This role owns the internal CI/CD pipelines. They must ensure that the core pipelines in Omni AWS are robust, and they are responsible for building and managing the feature flagging and branching strategies to build and push code and features to the Cloud One Common Computing Environment. This is a critical technical responsibility to ensure continuous delivery while adhering to different security and operational requirements.
● Scalability and Performance: The engineer ensures the infrastructure can scale to meet the needs of the data mesh and in accordance with the overall solution architecture. They monitor performance and operating costs and implement solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.
● Automation: A key responsibility is to automate everything possible, from infrastructure provisioning (Infrastructure as Code) to monitoring and alerting. They should be proficient with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
● Containerization: As containers are an essential part of a scalable and secure system, the Platform/Infrastructure Engineer needs to be proficient with the building and hardening of container images to ensure security and scalability of the system that deploys them.
● Mentorship and Collaboration: They provide technical guidance to the development and operations teams, helping them understand and use the platform effectively. They must work closely with the App Dev Lead to ensure the infrastructure supports application development needs.

Required Skills:
● Experience using Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation.
● Proven ability to build, secure, and manage Docker containers.
● Strong proficiency in Bash for automating tasks.
● Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
● Holds a current Security+ certification.
● Experience with GitLab for continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
● Practical knowledge of OIDC / oAuth protocols.

Nice to Have:
● Prior experience deploying applications to theUS Air Force C1 cloud computing environment.
● An AWS certification is a plus, especially the DevOps Professional.
● Familiarity with API gateways like Tyk.
● Experience with Keycloak (preferred) or other ICAM systems.
