Contract: 24 months with potential for direct hire
Compensation: $73.65/hour … could vary based on experience

Overview
Our client, a premier DoD aerospace and defense contractor, is seeking an Advanced CAD Specialist to join their engineering design team in Florham Park, NJ. In this role, you will apply advanced CAD tools and design methodologies to create, revise, and optimize complex designs, drawings, and bills of material in support of mission-critical defense systems.
This is a unique opportunity to support programs that directly impact the warfighter mission while working with technologies that are both cutting-edge and often classified.

Key Responsibilities
• Create and revise detailed designs, 3D models, drawings, and bills of material for aerospace and defense products.
• Apply CAD engineering methods and industry best practices to solve complex technical design challenges.
• Serve as a technical contributor and subject matter expert on small design or test teams.
• Provide innovative design solutions to a wide range of difficult engineering problems.
• Support integration of mechanical design, part fabrication, and electronic assembly requirements into CAD models.
• Maintain and manage design files using strategic CAD and file management tools.
• Contribute to technical reviews and support product lifecycle from concept through production.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CAD Design, or related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD software and file management tools (Pro-E/Creo or SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong mechanical design background with experience in part fabrication and electronics assembly integration.
• Proven ability to develop, evaluate, and optimize design alternatives and contingency plans.
