We're seeking a talented SM-3 Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dahlgren, VA, supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile program. In this critical role, you'll be the driving force behind lifecycle production efforts-developing, testing, and integrating advanced missile software into the Aegis Weapon System.
As missile defense evolves to counter emerging threats and meet the demands of Munitions Acceleration, the SM-3 program is undergoing major upgrades. These include enhancements to software architecture, the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for target discrimination, and modernization of computational infrastructure.

What You'll Do
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for missile guidance, navigation, control, discrimination, and communication systems.
- Contribute to software architecture design, requirements analysis, detailed design, and code reviews.
- Support Aegis Weapon System integration and testing activities.
- Participate in flight tests and data analysis.
- Manage technical meetings and design reviews for software activities, including MDA Engineering Technical Reviews.
- Oversees the progress of development sprints and managing backlogs.
- Define long-term technical strategies and architectural roadmaps.
- Support analysis of Real Word Events and observations that lead to required software changes / updates.
What You Bring
- A bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years of professional experience in an office setting
- Active SECRET Security clearance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively
- A proactive mindset with a problem-solving attitude
- Up to 20% travel may be required.

- Experience working with the Missile Defense Agency or U.S. Navy
